Positioned as a convenience scooter for families, the Rizta strikes a balance between practicality, comfort, and cutting-edge technology. Real owner opinions, filtered by how you actually ride
Strong commuter package — ample range, huge storage, reverse gear & navigation make daily city riding effortless. Eco mode can feel sluggish in traffic.
Not built for thrill-seekers. The Rizta is deliberately relaxed vs the 450X. Ather's software stack & regen tech are impressive, but the performance ceiling disappoints enthusiasts.
The Rizta's true calling. Widest seat in class, generous storage, gentle power delivery, hill hold, and advanced safety features make it the best electric family scooter in India right now.
Not the right tool for long hauls. 80 kmph top speed, limited highway charging points, and a 4–5 hr full charge time make intercity touring impractical on the Rizta.
Bought the Rizta Z for my wife and honestly we both ended up using it. The riding position is very upright and comfortable even on Pune's terrible roads. Boot space is massive — fits two full helmets easily. Range on a single charge is around 105 km in eco mode with mixed riding. Fast charging at Ather Grid takes barely 45 minutes to 80%. Build quality feels solid, no rattles or creaks even after 6 months. ATZ tyres give great grip in the wet. App connectivity is seamless and the navigation on the TFT screen is genuinely useful. Only minor gripe is the turn indicator auto-cancel is a bit aggressive. Overall extremely happy.
I commute 22 km each way in Bengaluru traffic and the Rizta has made my mornings actually enjoyable. Warp mode is addictive — the pickup from 0 to 40 is instant and you can filter through traffic effortlessly. The suspension soaks up potholes well, though very sharp bumps do get through. Mileage has been around 95–100 km true range in Ride mode with AC roads. Ather's service app is excellent — I got a remote diagnostic done without visiting the centre. The design is elegant without being flashy. My only concern is that the side stand sensor has been finicky twice and required a software fix. But Ather support was responsive.
The Rizta is a genuinely nice scooter to ride day to day. Comfort is the standout — tall riders like me (5'8") sit comfortably without feeling cramped. Boot space and front utility hook are very practical. However I have faced two software glitches in four months. Once the display froze and I had to do a hard restart, and another time the charging session did not end properly through the app. Ather pushed OTA fixes for both but the experience was mildly annoying. Range is decent at around 85 km in my mixed riding. Performance is adequate, not thrilling. Service centre in Hyderabad was polite and quick. Overall a 3.5 out of 5 — promising but not yet flawless. Performance
The scooter itself is fine — comfortable, good storage, decent pickup. My problem is entirely with the ecosystem in smaller cities. Nagpur has very few Ather Grid points and two of the three near me are frequently out of order. I was stranded once with 8% battery and the nearest working charger was 12 km away. Home charging is slow and takes overnight. Ather's customer care was apologetic but could not solve the infrastructure gap. The claimed 123 km range is achievable only in ideal conditions — my regular range is 78–82 km. At this price, I expected better support outside Bangalore and Pune. Think twice if you live outside a metro.
